Safety & care

The Tilumé permanent bracelet is designed to be worn permanently. Please read this information before putting it on. Here you will find instructions for safe connection, care, and important safety warnings.

Material and skin

Tilumé bracelets are made of high-quality stainless steel that is durable and suitable for everyday wear, including contact with water. The material complies with the nickel release limits for products in prolonged contact with the skin under the REACH regulation (tested according to EN 1811). Stainless steel contains nickel; most people, including those with more sensitive skin, wear the bracelet without problems, but it may cause a reaction in people with a known allergy to nickel or other metals.

Sensitive skin and allergies. The product is not suitable for people with a known allergy to nickel or other metals. If redness, itching or other irritation appears where the bracelet sits, remove the bracelet (see the "Removing the bracelet" section) and consult a doctor if the problems persist.

Putting on the bracelet and using the pliers

Using the included pliers, adjust the bracelet to the right length and connect it with the lock. Follow our video tutorial.

Be careful when cutting and connecting. The pliers are sharp, so when adjusting the length and closing the lock, keep your fingers away from the cutting and pressing parts to avoid cuts or pinching. Follow the video tutorial when putting the bracelet on. If you are putting the bracelet on a child, proceed with extra care and supervise them. Dispose of the cut-off parts of the bracelet safely.

The right fit

Do not wear the bracelet too tight. There should be a little slack between the bracelet and your wrist (you should comfortably be able to slide a finger underneath it). A bracelet that is too tight can restrict blood circulation. Check the fit regularly, especially if the wrist may change (swelling, children's growth, pregnancy).

Removing the bracelet

The bracelet is designed to be permanent and has no traditional clasp. The bracelet can be easily removed by cutting it off with the pliers.

Cut the bracelet off immediately if you notice: swelling, tingling, numbness, a change in skin colour, pain or any sensation of restricted blood flow in the wrist or hand area.

Before a medical procedure. Before an MRI scan, surgery or any other procedure, inform the medical staff about the bracelet; if it needs to be removed, it can simply be cut off.

Children

Not suitable for small children. The package contains small parts (locks) that pose a risk of swallowing. For small children there is also a risk of strangulation. Therefore do not put the bracelet on small children and infants, keep small parts out of their reach, and always keep children under adult supervision while wearing it.

Care

  • You can wear the bracelet without worry while showering, swimming and doing sports. With normal wear it retains its appearance for a long time and is highly resistant to corrosion.
  • Be careful during sports, impact activities or manual work. The bracelet can catch on clothing, sports equipment or other objects, which can lead to damage to the bracelet or injury to the skin. Under greater strain it may weaken or break.
  • If the bracelet is damaged, deformed or has sharp edges, stop wearing it and remove it.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with aggressive chemicals (e.g. chlorine, cleaning agents, some perfumes and cosmetics applied directly to the bracelet).
  • Gently clean the bracelet with a soft cloth as needed; to restore its shine, you can use a jewelry cleaning paste.
